My time in Moab was done. I am heading to my next volunteer position. After packing everything up and a quick stop at the Moab BLM office to check out, I headed south on route 191. Traffic was light on the two lane highway all the way to Flagstaff. I made a reservation at a KOA on the north side of town. After a bit over two months using my generator for electricity, it was a pleasure to connect to a 50 amp hookup.
As I was nearing Flagstaff there was a haze obscuring the mountains. Soon I came upon signs saying that a controlled burn was in process somewhere in the Coconino National Forest. But at the KOA, it wasn’t noticeable. Check-in was a breeze and my site was easy to get into. Unfortunately, the site wasn’t level so it took a bit to get the RV to a level point.
The wind picked up and blew all night long and continued into the morning. The view while walking Aria was pleasant. I think she misses our daily walks around the campground to talk with campers. She wanted to go visit other sites here at the KOA.
Next stop – Picket Post Mountain.
